eApps Hosting announced the deployment of a new SSD based storage system, by StorPool Storage. The system delivers significantly enhanced performance and has a proven track record for high uptime.
eApps Hosting reported that the first Virtual Cloud zone, in the company’s Atlanta data center location, has been successfully converted to StorPool’s Distributed Storage system. All customers in the Atlanta zone have been migrated to the new storage system. The StorPool deployment in all eApps Cloud zones is underway, with an expected completion date by the end of the first quarter of 2017. The new system is being rolled out for all Virtual Cloud customers, with no increase in storage pricing.
StorPool was selected in a multiple vendor evaluation based on performance, reliability, scalability, and vendor responsiveness. StorPool’s system is deployed on eApps’ high speed network and uses solid state drives (SSD) for maximum performance. eApps customers that are now on the new storage system are benefiting from improved disk performance and higher levels of I/O throughput at no additional cost for their hosting plan.
With StorPool, additional storage capacity can be easily added, allowing eApps to offer very large disks for a Virtual Cloud Server. One terabyte disks are available now, with even larger disk options planned in the near future.
